The Magic Of May Rains

The Magic Of May Rains

May in my part of the world usually feels like standing next to a furnace. It’s the hottest month of the year, and the heat can be relentless. Most of us spend our days trying not to melt into puddles of "Why is it so hot?!"

But this May gave us a chill surprise — with gentle, unexpected showers. Unseasonal rain in May? Practically unheard of here! And yet, the skies opened up, and with it came a beautiful, much-needed break from the heat.

Rainy afternoon at the studio is magical. The windows fog up gently as rain tap against the glass in the sweetest rhythm — the kind that makes you want to pause and just listen. The leaves outside rustle softly, like nature was whispering stories. I sat down with this tile and let myself slow down. Drawing became meditative — a quiet conversation between ink, rhythm, and rain.

Every now and then, the clouds would take a break, and the birds returned. Chirping, fluttering, singing their joy into the air. It felt like nature itself was celebrating.

Moments like these are such gifts — gentle reminders to be present, to create, and to take delight in the smallest things.
Blessed and grateful for rain in May, and the magic it brings. 🌧️✨

Here’s the tile I made exploring tangle Maodanfa the monotangle style with some color — it holds the memory of rustling leaves, a rainy rhythm, and the joy of slowing down.

🌿 PS: If you're craving a pause like this — some quiet creating, some noticing — my workshop  "BLOOMING ZENDALA” might just be the thing.
