On this tile, I had the joy of revisiting some of my favorite tangles, creating a composition that feels alive and full of movement. The star of the tile is Triplex—a super simple yet incredibly striking tangle. I’m always amazed by how, with just the right touch of shading, Triplex seems to lift itself off the tile, adding magic to the whole piece.
Along with it, I brought "I Can This", a tangle I haven’t used in quite some time. Every time I draw it, I’m reminded of its gentle, flowing nature. It has this way of adding rhythm and organic movement, as if the lines themselves are dancing across the tile.
To complete the composition, I added Garlic, another lesser-used tangle in my work. It has a beautifully understated charm that pairs so well with the other elements, enhancing the overall softness and natural feel.
The combination of these three tangles—Triplex’s bold pop, I Can This’ fluid motion, and Garlic’s quiet presence has resulted in a tile that feels wonderfully organic and harmonious. Sometimes, it’s these unexpected pairings of familiar and forgotten tangles that bring out the most delightful surprises on a Zentangle journey.
