This week felt like a quiet turning point in my practice. After a long while, I found myself easing back into a beautiful state of flow—ideas arriving softly, one after another, without effort or resistance. Creating this tile felt less like planning and more like listening.
I chose to revisit a handful of older tangles, ones that have been part of my journey for years but hadn’t made an appearance in recent work. There is something deeply comforting about returning to familiar patterns and seeing them with fresh eyes. Each line felt like a reunion.
Working on a tan surface always opens up endless possibilities for me. It invites contrast, subtlety, and depth in a way that feels both grounding and expansive. I used Gneiss to bring in drama and strong contrast, allowing the darker areas to anchor the composition. Verdigogh added an organic, almost breathing quality to the tile, softening the structure.
Instead of using Elegan as a border, I placed it right at the center, letting its intricacy take the spotlight. Allium brought in an extra layer of drama, while Purk gently guided the flow, tying everything together.
This tile reminded me how nourishing it can be to slow down, revisit the old, and allow creativity to move freely once again.
