June Colors & Gentle Tangles

June Colors & Gentle Tangles

June always feels like a gentle pause before the monsoons arrive. The summer heat still lingers in the afternoons, but there is already a softness in the air that promises cooler days ahead. I find myself looking forward to the first rains, the sound of water on the windows, and the calm that comes with the changing season.

This month, I wanted to spend time playing with watercolors. There is something endlessly joyful about watching colors blend and flow across the tile, especially when paired with the rhythm of tangles. The balance between spontaneity and structure always makes the process feel meditative and refreshing.

For this project, I worked on a white tile using Carpet Daisy, Knightsbridge, Mushroom, Waybob, Kalanchoe and Palmier. I enjoyed allowing the watercolor washes to guide the composition while the tangles slowly brought movement and detail to the piece. Some areas felt soft and fluid, while others created beautiful contrast through bold patterns.

A quiet seasonal exploration, filled with color, lines, and the anticipation of rain.
