LUMINOUS LOTUS - Day 1

LUMINOUS LOTUS - Day 1

31 Days of Zen – The October Project

“The earth laughs in flowers.” And today, it laughs through our pens and patterns! Welcome to Day 1 of LUMINOUS LOTUS, the start of a 31-day mindful exploration inspired by the timeless beauty of the lotus.

The idea for this series blossomed from my love for this radiant flower that graces the Indian landscape — a symbol of resilience, strength, and renewal. The lotus rises from the mud, unfolds petal by petal, and shines with quiet light. Translating that spirit into Zentangle opens a beautiful rhythm of lotuses, lines, and tangles, where each tile becomes a gentle bloom of its own — a tiny moment of joy and presence.

Today, with String 1, we begin this luminous journey using A-Cute, Aahroma, Scoodle, Ennies, Finery, Fragment 13B, and Corsace. May each line remind you that beauty can rise from stillness and that creativity, like the lotus, flourishes through patience and play.

Let’s rise, unfold, and create together — one lotus, one tangle, one day at a time. ✨

Materials: White Zendala Tile, Black Micron Pens (01, 08), Brown Micron 01, White Gelly Roll 10, Graphite Pencil, White Charcoal Pencil, Stub, and Watercolors.
