After a wonderfully full season of workshops, teaching, and life by the sea, I’m finally easing myself back into the rhythm of creating my weekly Zentangle Inspired Art. There’s something deeply grounding about returning to the quiet comfort of a tile, a pen, and a moment of stillness. And what better way to rekindle that creative spark than by joining INKTOBERTANGLES 2025?
For my first tile of the series, I decided to play with a combination of tangles that felt both festive and familiar — Festive, Seedwayz, Melvina, Toodles, and StarRite. Each one brings its own personality: the celebratory flourish of Festive, the gentle pathways of Seedwayz, the strong lines of Melvina, the playful loops of Toodles, and the glowing star-like elegance of StarRite. Bringing them together felt like weaving a little story of movement, joy, and return.
What makes this piece extra special is the tile itself — a soft light blue tile gifted to me by CZT Jasmine Jehangir. There’s a quiet tenderness in working on something gifted with love and intention. The color set a gentle tone for the entire composition, guiding my lines into a lighter, more reflective mood.
As I ease my way back into this weekly practice, I’m reminded once again why I love Zentangle so much — every stroke is a moment of presence, every tile a fresh beginning. Here’s to a month of tangling, reconnecting, and rediscovering the joy of simple lines.
