Some mornings, the soul doesn't ask for a list. It asks for a forest.
That is how this Zendala came to be — a playful, dreamy tile where an abstract, imaginary scenery unfolds, petal by tangled petal. I reached for bold, bright colors, the kind that sing a little too loudly in the daylight. Because somedays the heart craves exactly that: a joyful noise to remind it to breathe. As I drew, the colors carried me to a quiet place with tall trees, where I could disappear into the rustle of leaves, the chirping of birds, and the sweet smell earth, flowers and life. A mild breeze wandered through, teasing strands of stolen sunlight that beam down through the canopy in golden ribbons.
There, in that imagined hush, the heart beats in sync with the layers of the universe — connected to everything, and yet wide awake in my own spirit.
Isn't that the loveliest paradox of making art? We sit alone with a pen and a tile, and somehow we become part of everything. The circle holds us like a canopy. The tangles hum like birdsong. The colors blaze like that stolen sunlight.
What's the one place you'd disappear into if you could?
