A Quiet Practice of Happiness

A Quiet Practice of Happiness

“Happiness cannot be traveled to, owned, earned, worn, or consumed. It is the spiritual experience of living every minute with love, grace, and gratitude.” These words stayed with me as I worked on this Renaissance tile, gently guiding each stroke and pause.

Created on a warm tan surface, I explored a harmonious blend of black, brown, and white, allowing the contrasts to unfold softly. The tangles—Pokeleaf, Nzepple, Tizzy, and Abeko—came together like a quiet conversation, each bringing its own rhythm and character to the composition.

There was no rush, no destination to reach. Just the simple act of being present with the pen, responding to each line as it emerged. The earthy tones added a sense of grounding, while the delicate highlights in white brought a subtle sense of light and lift.

Turns out that happiness is not something to chase. It reveals itself in these small, mindful moments—when we slow down, create with intention, and allow gratitude to gently weave through everything we do.
