Flavours of Ugadi, Patterns of Life

Today, across different parts of India, the New Year quietly unfolds in rhythm with the lunar calendar. In my home, we welcome Ugadi, a celebration that feels both grounding and deeply symbolic.

One of the most cherished rituals of this day is the preparation of a unique festive drink — a beautiful blend of flavors that mirrors life itself. Jaggery brings sweetness, raw mango adds a refreshing sourness, tamarind lends its tangy depth, green chilli introduces a gentle heat, and neem flowers offer a distinct bitterness. Each ingredient holds meaning, reminding us that the year ahead will carry moments of joy, challenge, surprise, and growth.

As we sip this thoughtful concoction, we offer a simple yet profound wish — may the coming year be rich with every shade of experience, and may we embrace them all with grace.

Inspired by this sentiment, I created a tan tile using a blend of Fluxcue, Heartlock, Well, Punzel, and Icantoo — a harmony of organic, grid, and floral tangles flowing together.

Wishing you a beautiful and balanced New Year. 🌿
