Yet another beautiful week has flown by, and I find myself feeling deeply grateful and blessed to be doing the things I love. Zentangle continues to be an important part of that journey—not just as a practice, but as a way of thinking, exploring, and allowing ideas to unfold.

Lately, I’ve been playing with a few ideas that are beginning to whisper their potential into future workshops. I love this stage of the process. There’s something magical about the exploration phase—the curious beginnings, the little experiments, the questions, and the endless possibilities of where an idea might lead.

This tile came from one such exploratory session. I started with a white round tile with a single tangle and introduced mild watercolors, gently playing with colour tones. I wasn’t trying to create a perfect result. Instead, I was curious about what would happen when colour, pattern, and a little spontaneity were given space to interact.

And that, I think, is one of the most interesting parts of being an artist.

Sometimes we are full of ideas but don’t know where to begin. Sometimes we begin but get stuck halfway. And sometimes, we simply need someone to help us look at our work—and our creative process—from a different perspective.

Over the years, I’ve had many conversations with artists about these very moments: self-doubt, creative blocks, outdated habits, or simply feeling overwhelmed by a flood of ideas and not knowing where to begin.

I’ve learned that these blocks aren’t permanent; they can be invitations to explore deeper and understand ourselves as artists more intimately.
