Geometry, Growth, and New Perspectives

Geometry, Growth, and New Perspectives

I’m back with Day 09 of my PP28 journey, and this tile is inspired by Leonardo da Vinci and his exploration through the Vitruvian Man. The idea of perfect proportions and balance led me to work with a five-pointed star, a form that feels both structured and beautifully expressive.

I had so much fun creating this piece, all cozied up in my Dutch home. There is something truly special about this time here — a slower rhythm, softer light, and a sense of calm that gently seeps into the creative process. I feel deeply grateful to be able to spend this summer here.

For this tile, I worked on a tan surface using black, brown, and white pens, along with matching pencils to build depth and drama. I also explored a different combination of tangles — using Maria’s Flux to shape the star, Rick’s Paradox in the background, Tripoli at the center, and Verdigogh as the border. Each element added its own character, coming together in a harmonious flow.

Travel always brings with it a quiet kind of magic. A change of location opens up new perspectives, helping you see familiar things differently. In a short span of time, you grow — creatively and personally.

This tile is a reflection of that journey — of balance, exploration, and the beauty of seeing things anew. ✨
