Holi on a Tan Tile

Holi on a Tan Tile

Today is Holi — the vibrant festival of colors that welcomes spring and all its gentle renewals. There is something deeply symbolic about this celebration. Color becomes a language of joy, of hope, of fresh beginnings.

This morning, instead of stepping out into bright powders and playful splashes, I chose to celebrate in my own quiet way — on a humble tan tile. I let watercolors bloom softly across its warm surface, watching pigments merge and flow like little celebrations of their own. The pencils followed, adding detail, depth, and delicate intention to the washes.

Working on tan always feels special. The earthy base holds both light and shadow so beautifully, allowing colors to glow with quiet richness. It felt like spring unfolding in miniature — petal by petal, line by mindful line.

Holi, for me this year, was not loud. It was gentle. A personal play of color, creativity, and calm renewal.
