It’s back-to-school week in our home— you can imagine the madness! Between prepping supplies, planning meals, and squeezing in some last-minute travel, the days have been a delightful blur of to-do lists and tight hugs.
In the middle of all this, something caught my eye: ToYou Tangle 2025—a lovely free online Zentangle event hosted by a few incredibly talented Japanese CZTs. It’s a 30-day celebration of creativity, marking the arrival of the rains in Japan with daily prompts and tangled joy.
I’ve been itching to join in, but, well… life happened. Still, I managed to slow down just enough to create a prologue tile. A small but happy beginning! I used simple tangles and some fragments to create this project, I also used a very light wash of watercolors for some interest. Sharing some close ups below.
Tangle Meichan
Tangles Mooka & Purk
Tangle Fenglish
Tangles Scena & Tipples
Fragments B13 & Q1
Coincidentally, the monsoon has officially made its way to India’s west coast, and even here on the east, we’re finally feeling the cooling relief in the breeze. Perfect timing to tangle with a rainy-day mood!
I may not be on time with all the daily prompts, but I’m hoping to find my rhythm and slowly build momentum. Every prompt includes a new-to-me tangle, which makes the whole experience feel like a gentle creative stretch—a chance to learn, explore, and play.
So here’s to school routines, unexpected pockets of time, and making space for new beginnings—one stroke at a time. Let the rains (and the tangles) flow!
