Transitions and Tangles

Transitions and Tangles

This past week has been a flurry of emotions—with college admissions finally wrapping up for my daughter, life feels like it’s shifting gears. The house is buzzing with preparations, lists, and goodbyes as she gets ready to move to a new city in just two weeks. It’s hard to believe that my tiny preemie, once cradled in my arms, is now taking flight into the world. She’s always been a fighter, and I send her off with deep pride and prayers that she’s protected and guided at every step.

Amidst all the chaos, I still sneak in little pockets of quiet time for Zentangle. I’m way behind on the ToYou Tangle 2025 challenge, but I hold onto the prompts—they simmer gently in the back of my mind, waiting for the right moment to bloom on paper. When I do sit down to draw, I dive in with full heart.

Traditional silk saree motif, my inspiration

This tile features the tangle TACO—a deceptively simple pattern that lends itself to endless play. For the string, I used a traditional silk saree motif, weaving my love for textiles into my tangling. It’s comforting to return to this meditative space, no matter how hectic life gets.
