Meeting fellow CZTs always brings a special kind of joy—one that feels instantly familiar and deeply comforting. Even when it’s the very first meeting, there’s an unspoken connection, as if conversations have been waiting to happen for a long time. There is always so much to share, to show, to exchange, that time quietly slips away far too quickly.
Earlier this week, I had the pleasure of meeting CZT Hilde Van Ginhoven in Amsterdam. Though we had only known each other online until now, our meeting felt warm, easy, and beautifully natural.
She generously gifted me some of her tiles, and I couldn’t wait to create on one of them. The soft lavender-blue tile was something I had never explored before, making the process even more exciting. I used tangles like Mooka, Flux, Inaflux, Pokeroot, and Printemps, working with a brown pen and shading gently with a brown pencil. Touches of white added depth and dimension, bringing the piece to life.
Moments like these remind me how art connects us beyond screens
